# Rithmic R Trader Pro: export your orders to a trading journal > R Trader Pro exports one day at a time. Add the Qty Filled and Order Number columns, export the CSV and import each day into SetupBook. - Source: https://setupbook.io/blog/rithmic-r-trader-pro-export-trading-journal - Site: SetupBook - Language: en - Published: 2026-10-30 - Tags: import, prop firm, tools - tr: https://setupbook.io/tr/blog/rithmic-r-trader-pro-disa-aktarma-islem-gunlugu - es: https://setupbook.io/es/blog/exportar-ordenes-rithmic-r-trader-pro-diario - pt: https://setupbook.io/pt/blog/exportar-ordens-rithmic-r-trader-pro-diario - id: https://setupbook.io/id/blog/ekspor-order-rithmic-r-trader-pro-jurnal - vi: https://setupbook.io/vi/blog/xuat-lenh-rithmic-r-trader-pro-nhat-ky - de: https://setupbook.io/de/blog/rithmic-r-trader-pro-export-trading-tagebuch - fr: https://setupbook.io/fr/blog/exporter-ordres-rithmic-r-trader-pro-journal - ar: https://setupbook.io/ar/blog/rithmic-r-trader-pro-export-trading-journal Rithmic is the data and order feed behind Apex's Rithmic plan, Bulenox, Take Profit Trader, Elite Trader Funding, Lucid, Tradeify and, since August 2026, TradeDay. Its own front end is R | Trader Pro, and that program can save the day's completed orders as a CSV. The file is a little different from the others: it covers one day, it starts with a section title instead of a header, and it holds only the columns you turned on. SetupBook reads it as it is, several days at once. This guide shows the columns to turn on, the export, and how to import a week in one go. Rithmic's own API needs a developer agreement and the permission of the firm that gave you the account; it is built for brokers and vendors, not for a journal. The file is the way in. ## Before you start - A SetupBook account. File import is part of Pro, and every journal starts with 14 days of it: [start 14 days free](https://setupbook.io/signup). - A Prop account in SetupBook for the evaluation or the funded account, with the firm's limits on it. The [prop firm journal page](https://setupbook.io/prop-firm-trading-journal) explains the meters. - R | Trader Pro installed and logged in to the account. ## 1. Open Orders History for one day Click **File**, then **Orders History**. For today's orders the item is **Recent Orders**; for any other day, Orders History. Choose the account and one day. The window shows two sections: **Working Orders** at the top and **Completed Orders** below it. The journal reads the completed section only. ![R Trader Pro Orders History window: File menu, one account and day, Working Orders and Completed Orders](https://setupbook.io/blog/prop/rithmic-r-trader-pro-orders-history-window.svg) *File, Orders History, one account, one day. Completed Orders is the section that becomes trades.* ## 2. Turn on the columns the journal needs In the Completed Orders list right-click a column name and choose **Add/Remove columns**. Turn on **Symbol**, **Buy/Sell**, **Qty Filled**, **Avg Fill Price**, **Order Number**, **Update Time** and **Commission** (or Commission Fill Rate, if that is what your version offers). Click **OK**. R | Trader Pro remembers the choice, so you do this once. ![R Trader Pro Add/Remove columns dialog with Symbol, Buy/Sell, Qty Filled, Avg Fill Price, Order Number ticked](https://setupbook.io/blog/prop/rithmic-r-trader-pro-add-remove-columns.svg) *The export carries only the columns that are on. These seven are enough.* Why these: Qty Filled and Avg Fill Price are the fill; Buy/Sell gives the side as B or S; Order Number is the id SetupBook uses to skip a second import; Update Time is when the order filled; Commission is the cost, and when the column is a rate per contract SetupBook multiplies it by the quantity. ## 3. Export the CSV, one file per day Click the export button (a clipboard icon in some versions, **Export as CSV** in others) and save the file. R | Trader Pro exports one day at a time, so a week is five files. Name them by date and keep them in one folder. ![Five CSV files, one per weekday, all pointing to one SetupBook import](https://setupbook.io/blog/prop/rithmic-r-trader-pro-one-csv-per-day-import.svg) *One file per day. Choose them all at once in SetupBook and they read as one week.* ## 4. Import the days together Open **Trades** in SetupBook, press **Import** and drop all the files of the week on the file area at once (or choose them all in the file picker). The format reads *Detected: Rithmic R | Trader Pro orders (CSV)* and the file area says how many files you dropped. SetupBook strips the section titles, drops the Working Orders section, takes the completed fills of every file and pairs them first in, first out, across the files. A short opened on Monday afternoon and bought back on Tuesday morning becomes one trade. Choose the account, set the zone, check the preview and press **Import**. ![The SetupBook import dialog with a file detected, the account and zone fields, a preview of four trades and the Import button](https://setupbook.io/blog/prop/setupbook-import-file-preview-dialog.en.svg) *Several files read as one. The preview shows the paired trades before anything is saved.* If a position was still open when the last file ends, it is imported as an open trade. When you export the day it closed, import that day together with the day it opened, so the two halves pair; the import skips the trades that are already in the journal by their Order Number, and the open half is matched by symbol, side, minute and size. ## 5. Pick the time zone The clock of the export is not documented, and the display can follow your own settings. Use the zone that R | Trader Pro shows on screen, pick the same one in SetupBook, and after the first import compare one trade's time with the platform. If it is off by a fixed number of hours, import again with that zone. ## Problems - **"Layout not recognised."** The Completed Orders section lacks a column from step 2. Turn it on and export again. - **A day imports zero trades.** Only orders with a Qty Filled above zero count; cancelled orders in the completed section are skipped on purpose. Check the day had fills. - **Monday's short and Tuesday's buy are two trades.** They were imported in two separate runs. Delete the two halves and import the two days together. - **The commission is zero.** Neither Commission nor Commission Fill Rate was on when you exported. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can I export more than one day at a time? Not from R | Trader Pro; Orders History is one day per file. SetupBook accepts all the files at once and reads them as one, which is the same result. ### What about Fill History? File, Fill History gives Symbol, Fill Size, Fill Price and Fill Time but no order number, so a second import could not be recognised. Use Orders History. ### Which columns are required? Symbol, Buy/Sell, Qty Filled, Avg Fill Price and a time (Update Time or Create Time). Order Number lets re-imports be skipped; Commission or Commission Fill Rate gives the cost. Status, when on, keeps only filled orders. ### Which time zone is the file in? It is not documented. Pick the zone R | Trader Pro shows on screen and check one trade after the first import. ### Does SetupBook sync with Rithmic? No. Rithmic's APIs are licensed to brokers and software vendors through a conformance process, with the firm's permission on top. The file is the practical route.
