This policy explains when you get your money back for a SetupBook Pro subscription and how to ask for it. It is part of our terms of service.
The journal itself is free and never asks for a payment. This policy is only about Pro, the paid plan described on the pricing page.
Who sells Pro
Pro is sold by our reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Limited (Paddle.com Inc. for customers in the United States). Paddle takes the payment and makes every refund, back to the payment method you used. Paddle's refund policy and buyer terms also apply to your purchase. Where this policy gives you more, this policy applies.
The free trial
A monthly subscription starts with a free trial. Nothing is charged during the trial. If you cancel before it ends, you pay nothing, so there is nothing to refund.
14-day money-back guarantee
If you are not happy with Pro, ask for a refund within 14 days of a payment and you get that payment back in full. You do not have to give a reason. This covers:
- the first payment when the free trial ends;
- a six-month or yearly payment;
- every renewal;
- the difference charged when you move to a longer period.
After 14 days a payment is not refunded, unless the law gives you a right to a refund or Pro did not work as described and we could not fix it.
We may refuse a refund where we see fraud or abuse, for example subscribing and asking for a refund again and again.
How to ask for a refund
Use whichever is easier:
- Through Paddle. Open the receipt email from Paddle and follow the link to Paddle's support, or go to paddle.net, find your order and choose "Request refund".
- Through us. Write to info@setupbook.io or use the contact page, with the email address of your SetupBook account. We pass the request to Paddle for you.
Paddle sends approved refunds to the payment method you used, normally within 14 days of approval. Your bank may need a few more days to show it.
Your right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Türkiye, you also have a legal right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. For a subscription with a free trial, the 14 days start when the trial ends and the first payment is taken. To withdraw, use the withdrawal option in Paddle's customer portal (the "Manage subscription" link in Paddle's emails), or send us a clear statement by email. You get the full payment back within 14 days of your request.
Consumer law in other countries can give you further rights, for example a shorter unconditional right to cancel. Nothing in this policy limits them.
What happens after a refund
Pro ends when the refund is made and your account goes back to the free plan. Your journal stays: trades, accounts, notes, connections and imports are not deleted, and every free feature keeps working.
Cancelling
Cancelling stops future payments. It does not refund a past payment by itself. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Subscription or through the link in Paddle's emails, and Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for. If you also want your money back, ask for a refund within 14 days of the payment as described above.
Chargebacks
Please write to us or to Paddle before you open a dispute with your bank or card issuer: a refund is usually faster. Pro may be paused while a chargeback is reviewed. You keep every right that your card scheme and consumer law give you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. A payment is covered by the version that was on this page on the day of the payment.
