SetupBookFree, every feature; no paid plan todayBest forTraders who want the math done right and want to see what their mistakes and their own state cost them, whether the trades arrive from MetaTrader, cTrader or an exchange, from a file or by hand. Forex, crypto, futures and prop accounts.
TraderSync$29.95, $49.95 or $79.95 a month; 7-day trial; no refundsBest forActive stock, options and futures traders who want broad broker sync, AI and a real native phone app.
TraderSync is a multi-asset trading journal with broad broker sync, an AI assistant called Cypher, trade replay down to 250 milliseconds on its top plan, and what many reviewers call the best native mobile app in the category. SetupBook is a free web journal that asks for three fields per trade, computes everything else from your fills, and puts a price on your mistakes.
The short answer. If you trade US stocks or options, want automatic sync and need a real phone app, TraderSync is the stronger product. If you trade forex, crypto, futures or prop accounts on MetaTrader, cTrader or an exchange (or journal by hand or by file), and want accurate numbers without a subscription, SetupBook is enough.
Feature by feature
TraderSync's column uses its published plan names with prices from independent price checks made in October 2026; see the sources below.
Where TraderSync is the better choice
- Native mobile apps on iOS and Android with the journal's features, not a cut-down view. SetupBook is a web app that installs to the home screen.
- Broker sync with more than 700 brokers, US stocks and options included. SetupBook syncs MetaTrader 4 and 5, cTrader, Bybit, Binance and OKX, and imports files from the rest.
- Trade replay on every plan, from one-minute candles on Pro to 250-millisecond resolution on Elite.
- AI. Cypher answers questions about your trades, with a daily message cap that rises with the plan; the proactive Cypher Coach is on Elite.
- Stocks and options are first-class, including options backtesting on Elite.
Where SetupBook is the better choice
- Price. Free, no trial clock, no card. TraderSync starts at $29.95 a month after a 7-day trial, and its policy states that payments are final.
- Process before the trade. Open positions are logged when you enter, with plan, bias and a checklist ticked before the result is known; the exit is added later.
- Mistake cost and discipline. Each mistake tag shows what it cost in money and how often it wins, against your clean trades; the discipline rate and a discipline-versus-equity chart show when rule-breaking starts.
- Psychology you can count. Sleep, energy and mood each morning, calm at entry on each trade, and four charts that read them against your results.
- Prop firm limits on the dashboard and in the trade form, with a warning before a trade would break the daily loss or drawdown limit.
- English and Turkish.
What a year costs
TraderSync also sells yearly plans at a discount; third-party sources disagree on the exact figures, so check their pricing page.
Moving from TraderSync to SetupBook
If you can export your trades as CSV, use SetupBook's import with column mapping, which previews the rows and skips duplicates. For forex and CFD history from MetaTrader 4 or 5, importing the broker's original report keeps commission and swap. Binance and TradingView exports have their own importers.
Which one to pick
Pick TraderSync if you need automatic sync from a US broker, replay or a native app, and the subscription is worth it to you. Pick SetupBook if you want a free journal that gets the math right, makes your mistakes and your state visible, and handles prop limits, and you are fine without sync and AI. The user guide has a demo account with every screen filled in.
